Induction Brazing Of Electrical Connector

1. What is electrical connector?

The replacement product of the electrical connector (aviation plug) has the characteristics of small size, lightweight, convenient use, resistance to plugging and unplugging, good electrical conductivity, and good sealing performance. It is widely used in the line connection between various electrical equipment, instruments, and meters. Since electrical connectors have relatively high technical requirements for accuracy, air tightness, and flatness of welds after welding, the application of electrical connector brazing technology has high requirements for induction brazing equipment.

2. How to braze electrical connectors with induction heating?

The current electrical connector welding generally includes: vacuum brazing, reflow welding, and hot plate welding; the above welding methods are prone to excessive heating time, excessive “sophistication”, oxidation, or uncontrolled heating temperature, which may cause the performance of the workpiece to decline or cause irreversible damage to the workpiece. Induction brazing technology can overcome these defects and can well improve the brazed product quality.

3. Why use induction brazing for electrical connectors?

  1. Since the heat is generated by the workpiece itself, the heating is rapid, the oxidation of the workpiece surface is much less than that of brazing in the furnace, and the grain growth of the base metal and the development of recrystallization can be prevented.
  2. Due to the skin effect of induction heating, local heating of the workpiece can be achieved, and the heat is highly localized, allowing the solder joint to quickly reach the temperature required for melting without risking damage to the workpiece.
  3. Since induction heating brazing adopts an inside-out heating method, its effect is not affected by changes in brazing position or joints.
  4. Induction heating can achieve rapid heating and cooling, often a cycle in a few seconds and the welding cycle is faster, which improves production efficiency and is very suitable for automated, large-scale production processes.

4. Where can induction brazing be used?

At present, induction brazing technology is widely used in the welding of various metals, including aluminum, pure copper, copper alloy, iron, cast iron, stainless steel, and other weldments with symmetrical shapes, especially for the socket joint of pipe fittings, pipes and flanges. Connections in the form of joints such as shafts and bushings.

  • Air conditioning refrigeration industry: Induction brazing welding of all kinds of copper, aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, copper and brass, copper and aluminum, such as distributor, diverter, pipe joint, sight glass, compressor outlet, liquid storage tank, liquid storage Welding of bottles, four-way valve end caps, branch pipes, etc.
  • Induction brazing of automobile air-conditioning system compressor outlet copper-iron, accumulator dryer aluminum interface, aluminum pipe and aluminum pipe in the pipeline, aluminum pipe and joint, single-pipe pressure plate, double-pipe pressure plate, condenser evaporator lead-out pipe, muffler, Aluminum dispensers, etc.
  • Induction brazing of water cooling plates, water cooling belts, and joints, plugs, water nozzles, etc. of new energy battery power battery systems.
  • Other applications: induction brazing of alloy cutter head, shield machine pick, etc.
