What is a shaft magnetic particle flaw detector?
The shaft magnetic particle flaw detector is a specialized non-destructive testing (NDT) device that identifies surface and near-surface defects in ferromagnetic materials, such as cracks, lack of fusion, or other discontinuities. These detectors magnetize the test object and apply magnetic particles (usually in powder or liquid form) to the surface. The particles accumulate at areas of flux leakage, indicating the presence of flaws.
The shaft magnetic particle flaw detector is a machine tool type equipment, which is a flaw detection equipment for various cracks, slag inclusions, and other extremely fine defects caused by casting, forging, hardening, grinding, fatigue, etc. on the near-surface of the workpiece. This equipment is suitable for large-scale detection of ferromagnetic bars, pipes, castings, shafts, and rods for internal combustion engines, the aviation industry, and other machinery.
The equipment consists of a clamping magnetization mechanism, a rotating observation mechanism, a demagnetization mechanism, and an independent multi-channel magnetization power supply control mechanism. The equipment can perform circumferential, longitudinal, and composite magnetization and demagnetization on the workpiece. The circumferential, longitudinal, and composite directions are all equipped with power-off phase control, the continuous method is used for flaw detection, and magnetic traces are displayed in all directions. This set of equipment is based on industrial PLC, which controls and coordinates the actions of the whole machine to complete all flaw detection processes except loading and unloading and observation. It can be automatically operated according to the set program or manually operated in single steps. It is equipped with a current preselection and undercurrent alarm system, multi-channel magnetization to ensure no missed detection, and a missed detection automatic alarm function. It has programmable functions and can perform working rotation, coil movement, automatic magnetic suspension spraying, magnetization, clamping, etc.
