Why does the workpiece of high-frequency hardening equipment deform?

The quenching speed of high-frequency hardening equipment is very fast, and the heating is uniform, which is just to meet the increasingly wide range of accessories used for quenching now. It is through the metal material for rapid heating, rapid cooling, to obtain only the surface hardened layer for martensite. We can only control the amount of deformation through various methods, but can not completely eliminate the workpiece deformation problem. Why does the workpiece of high-frequency quenching equipment deform?

  • Forging and processing:

During heating of high-frequency quenching equipment, the workpiece will produce different deformations, please adopt corresponding methods to prevent.

Like crankshaft mechanical processing, fiber streamline because of the positioning datum changes, some parts of the processing less, but some parts of the processing removed more.

  • The cooling is not uniform:

If the quenching oil can flow evenly through all the workpieces, then each workpiece and part in different positions of the workpiece can be evenly cooled, which is the main way to prevent workpiece deformation.

Elongated shaft parts in the induction quenching of high frequency hardening equipment, if the flamethrower and the shaft are not a centerline, and the distance from the water spraying position is inconsistent, the deformation increases after quenching. In addition to correcting the factors of uneven cooling, the deformation can be clamped by adding rollaway to prevent deformation.

  • The pressure:

Shaft parts elongate when heated by high-frequency quenching equipment, if not with good elasticity, or even with good elasticity, but because the pressure is too large or the shaft is too long, the parts will be bent and deformed.

  • The structure is unreasonable:

In the design structure, it is necessary to avoid asymmetric shape and uneven section, and the diameter difference of steps should be as small as possible, and the circular arc should be used for a smooth transition in the corner.

  • The stress:

By the following methods, we can greatly reduce the deformation of the workpiece after induction quenching. Experience shows that if a high temperature tempering process is added to machined shaft parts, machining stress and straightening stress before quenching can be eliminated.
