The purpose of the roller shaft is to roll steel, and the surface of the roller needs to have sufficient strength and hardness, which determines the wear resistance of the roller and also determines the service life of the roller. The hardness requirements of the rolls are usually met through reasonable selection of roll materials and reasonable roll heat treatment processes.

Roll shaft heat treatment usually uses quenching & low-temperature tempering. The quenching methods include induction surface quenching and overall heating quenching. The purpose is to improve the wear resistance and peeling resistance of the roll. Hot rolls usually work in a high temperature environment of 700-800°C. The surface needs to withstand strong friction and repeated heating of the rolled material, as well as thermal fatigue with significant changes in the cooling temperature of the cooling water.

Induction hardening of roller shafts is a process that uses an electromagnetic field to heat the surface of a material, typically steel, to a very high temperature. This creates a hard and wear-resistant layer on the roller shaft, while leaving the core of the shaft unaffected.

  1. The roll induction quenching machine adopts a dual-frequency transformer movement method.
  2. The motion control of the roll induction quenching machine adopts a stepper motor to drive the ball screw transmission. The two transformers are controlled by the same numerical control signal to ensure that the two transformers move synchronously. The relative positions of the two transformers are adjustable up and down. The speed is infinitely adjustable and the stroke positioning is precise. Enhanced lathe CNC system, Chinese operation interface is simple and intuitive, the operation is stable and reliable, and it has strong resistance to interference. The system can store various workpiece heat treatment process parameters with a large storage capacity.
  3. The equipment’s kinematic pair adopts standard linear guide rails and is equipped with manual lubrication to ensure good lubrication.
  4. The bed of the roller induction hardening machine tool is a steel structure part.
  5. The clamping stroke adjustment of the upper ejector pin is realized by a cycloidal pinwheel reducer driving a trapezoidal screw drive. The relay circuit realizes the forward and reverse rotation of the motor to raise and lower the upper ejector pin to change the clamping length. The upper thimble shaft is equipped with No. 3 Morse hole, and thimbles of different shapes can be exchanged at will.
  6. The rotation of the lower ejector pin, that is, the rotation of the workpiece, is driven by an asynchronous motor and an inverter to control the synchronous belt transmission, which can realize a wide range of speed adjustment and can be adjusted arbitrarily during the working process. The lower ejector shaft is equipped with a chuck.
  7. The quenching transformer workbench is a two-dimensional adjustable working platform. The workbench can be adjusted arbitrarily in the horizontal plane, with an adjustment range of 500X500mm. The kinematic pair of the adjustment mechanism adopts standard linear shafts and linear bearings and is adjusted by a trapezoidal screw rod through a handwheel. The adjustment is convenient, flexible and highly accurate.
  8. The counterweight part is pulled by a chain and is safe, reliable and has a long service life.

The roller induction hardening machine can be directly used with intermediate frequency power supply and super audio power supply. The control system uses PLC, and the rotation and movement of the workpiece adopts frequency conversion speed regulation, and the speed is infinitely adjustable. It is matched with two sets of variable frequency induction heating equipment to complete the roll quenching process. One set of industrial frequency power supply is used to preheat the roll, and the other set of intermediate frequency power supply is used to quench the roll. Its power is determined by the diameter of the roll.
